Description

The occasion of living at TOSCANA MIA is to live with an Italian family and enjoy the hills of Chianti, surrounded by vineyard & olivegroves t with the advantage of modern facilities. And attend '5 hands on Cooking classes' which cover traditional, home-style Tuscan and Italian recipes to enjoy the wonderfully intense flavours & freshness of traditional Italian dishes cooked in an evocative stone farmhouse. Participants cook and eat dishes prepared using fresh, organic and natural ingredients. A complete meal (5 recipes)such as appetizers, a pasta dish, a vegetable or meat dish and then a dessert is prepared every day and is accompanied by wine which best complements it. During the excursion we will take you to discover the Chianti Classico wines and Tuscan oil. or to visit a typical Italian open market depending on the season. Dinner with a family for having typical Italian products, tasting and learning how to serve extravergin olive oil, balsamic vinegar, bread, Italian cheeses ( pecorino, parmigiano, mozzarella di bufala, ricotta etc.) , salami (Tuscan salami, finocchiona), Tuscan prosciutto, Tuscan bread ,focaccia and typical Tuscan dessert (Cantucci with Vin Santo). Language Lessons are Private,student and teacher or two students and teacher planned according to the students' personal needs. Your lessons will be out where real Italian life is, where everything happens,drinking a cappuccino or a glass of wine.

Daily schedule

Arrival

Arrival: at 6pm arrival in Montevarchi by train from Florence, transfer by private car to Podere Le Rose, meeting the other guests and welcome dinner offered by the de’ Mari family.

Day 1

Day 1: breakfast with the family, hands on cooking class - we prepare together 4 or 5 different recipes -, lunch together - we eat our recipes and taste the accompanying wine -, Italian language lesson, free afternoon for relaxing with a good book in the garden or in front of the fire during wintertime or walking around discovering the area, dinner at home, talking about Italian culture.

Day 2

Day 2: breakfast with the family, hands on cooking class - we prepare together 4 or 5 different recipes -, lunch together - we eat our recipes and taste the accompanying wine -, Italian language lesson, guided excursion in the Chianti area,visiting wineries,ceramics and beautiful sites, dinner at home, talking about Italian culture.

Day 3

Day 3: breakfast with the family, hands on cooking class - we prepare together 4 or 5 different recipes -, lunch together - we eat our recipes and taste the accompanying wine -, Italian language lesson, free afternoon for relaxing with a good book in the garden or in front of the fire during wintertime or walking around discovering the area, dinner at home, talking about Italian lifestyle.

Day 4

Day 4: breakfast with the family, hands on cooking class - we prepare together 4 or 5 different recipes -, lunch together - we eat our recipes and taste the accompanying wine -, Italian language lesson,guided excursion for a culture visit and shopping, dinner at home, talking about Italy and Italian culture and lifestyle.

Day 5

Day 5: breakfast with the family, hands on cooking class - we prepare together 4 or 5 different recipes -, lunch together - we eat our recipes and taste the accompanying wine -, transfer by private car to Montevarchi and train connection to Florence (arrival in Florence approx. 4:30pm).

First Course: Fresh hand-made pasta or Potato gnocchi or Dry pasta with red or White sauces or Ribollita (Tuscan vegetable soup)

Second Course: Roasted meat (Arista alla Fiorentina), Turkey breast with Balsamic Vinegar or Stuffed vegetables or savory Cakes with Zucchini

Dessert: Tiramisù or Panna Cotta or Gelato
